![]() When it first accepted new students in 1982, Semarang State Polytechnic was named Diponegoro University Polytechnic and opened three departments, namely the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Department of Electrical Engineering. ![]() The establishment of these six polytechnics follows the existence of the Swiss Manufacturing Polytechnic and ITB which were founded in 1976. With the decree, polytechnics were established in Medan, Palembang, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang and Malang. Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Semarang State Polytechnic) is one of universities which was founded with the help of Bank Dunia in accordance with the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education Number 03/Dj/Kep/1979.
